Dandelion Wine Recipe Ingredients

IngredientsÂ
- 3 Quarts Dandelions Flowers
- 4 Quarts WaterÂ
- Bottles and Corks (Storage)Â
- Pot (Ceramic Preferably)Â
- Baker’s YeastÂ
- Stale BreadÂ
- 2 Cardamom PodsÂ
- 2 ClovesÂ
- 1.5 lbs of Honey or can try 2 lbs of sugar. (Honey is healthier)Â
- Rind and juice of 2 OrangesÂ
- Rind and juice of 1 LemonÂ
- (If possible all ingredients organic and free of GMO’)Â

The warm weather is on its way in a few months for the Northern Hemisphere. A great way to celebrate the warm summer solstice would be some wine with your meal and share with your family & friends.
It’s also a great way to preserve your harvest of Dandelions. The dandelion flavored wine goes great with most meat and meals. If your looking for ways to preserve food without freezing or canning this will work out for you.
Dandelion Root or Flower Wine Recipe you could change it up as needed of course. Add your favorites if you don’t like some of these ingredients.
You will need three quarts of dandelion flowers. Please do not get these dandelions from chemical sprayed yard or close to roads that were possibly treated with some kind of chemicals.
Next, it’s important to get them soaking in 4 quarts of boiling water. This soaking needs to continue for for three days.Â
When the three days are up, its filter time get rid of the water. Grab two oranges and a lemon get the rind mix with sugar and some honey. Boil these ingredients up to 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes are up shut off the the heat. Add the juices of the oranges and the lemon.Â
Now its time to get the two cloves and the two cardamom . Simmer which is the lowest heat for up to 30 minutes.Â
Filter and pour this liquid into your favorite pot. Now this is where the wine magic happens. Get your stale bread that has been spread with baker’s yeast. This will ferment for two weeks.Â
I hope you picked your favorite wine bottles for storage. Pour the final product into these bottles. It’s vital to make sure you seal it super tight, if not it will be ruined and won’t keep.
The last result is waiting again. This is a waiting game for sure. The time frame before drinking the bottle of dandelion wine is a few months.Â
