If you are close to your delivery date or past the delivery date there is 2 full moons for August 2023. This is called a Blue Moon 2nd full moon in the month, which falls on August 30, 2023 @ 9:36pm EST. There is a myth that there is more deliveries that occur on a full moon, due to occurrence of the gravitational pull.

There has been a minimal of studies on this phenomenon without much positive feedback that it is occurs. This included a large study of 564,039 births over 5 years and they concluded there was nothing relevant.

However, 70% of nurses who work in labor and delivery as well as doula’s & midwives say its a real thing! They did a small study with 8395 births/deliveries that there was an increase of deliveries by 14.7% with full moons.

So, who really knows! But, if you are hoping to go into labor soon. It looks like August 2023 has 2 full moons! Leave me a note if this did or didn’t occur for you!
